Joys to Come- A Love Like Sarah

Sarah’s story is weaved throughout Genesis 17-21. She was Abraham’s wife, and God promised she would give birth to a son, but it took time for this promise to come to pass. Sarah trusted God even in the face of disappointment and what seemed impossible. She chose to laugh in the face of the trial and to remain faithful even when it probably felt at times as if she had been forgotten. Genesis 21:1 says, “The Lord kept His word and did for Sarah EXACTLY what He promised.” Verse 6 says, “And Sarah declared, “God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me. Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse a baby? Yet I have given Abraham a son in His old age!” She hoped in the joys to come rather than dwelling in doubt. 

Many times in our lives we will find ourselves in seasons of waiting. They can be heartbreaking, but if we lean in close and trust our Father above - He is always faithful. It might not always go as planned, but it is always the most beautiful outcome because it is His plan for us.
